Delivery locations.

We offer three forms of delivery. We know they are complicated, but it’s a challenge we’re interested in pursuing. We use the train, bike, or our feet to get your coffee to you.

Options:

  1. The first is that we drop off your order in your mailbox in Thalwil, Switzerland.

  2. You can grab your coffee directly in Thalwil.

  3. We can meet you in St. Gallen or Lachen, and give you your coffee.

  4. Postal shipping through Swiss Post (only in Switzerland). This is our last option.

How our packaging works.

Regarding the opportunities to improve our environmental impact, we have a ZERO compromise approach. We do not use new materials to contain or ship our coffee to you. This is a challenge which we hope you will help us overcome, as it requires your involvement as well.

Solar Powered Roasting!

Link Coffee Roasters uses solar power to roast your beans!!! For those that care, we have up to 14.28kWp for several hours each sunny day. In perfect conditions, this is about 300% of what we actually need, so the sustainable investment is shared within the local network ensuring everyone’s carbon footprint is reduced over the long haul. The Aillio Bullet roaster we use, requires a maximum of 1000w at full power. This ensures even in deep winter, there are a few hours most days we can roast under full solar power. We do the best we can to carry out all steps requiring electricity during sunny days!

7g Method for Single Shot

Diving deep into the coffee culture, we quickly realized sustainability was essential in forming this company. Doing research, we quickly learned that coffee is not an environmentally friendly product in and of itself. 50% of the environmental impact is through the beans themselves. The other 50% is related to preparation, packaging, and shipping. The first step in our approach was to reduce the amount of coffee beans required per coffee. We use a 7g coffee basket to produce excellent results. A typical shot of espresso uses 14-22g of coffee beans, so a 50-66% reduction the amount of coffee used per espresso already reduces the impact on the environment.
